“Science is man’s ignorance of man’s ignorance…” ~ Samuel Butler

I have lots to say about science, well, about everything really. (Especially religion. It is not just opium for the people, it is poison to their intelligence.) I still have a hard time accepting that so-called intelligent people can be religious, or spiritual, or anything that is labelled, and not in the moment. I have lots more to say about science, and this for now:

In this interview Bruce Lipton speaks on being a cell of humanity and letting go of the illusion of separation. He gives a comprehensive description of how we create our own reality and offers insight as to how we can start to really live differently. He also describes in great detail the disintegration of the honeymoon stage in a relationship.
“The cell is programmable, and it is programmed by our beliefs. This means you can change your program.[...] We don’t have to wait a thousand years for evolution, evolution can happen this afternoon. [...] We are not victims of anything more than our beliefs.”
From Stuart Davis’ new season of Sex, God and Rock and Roll. I’m a big fan of the new and minuscule genre of cutting edge spiritual comedy.
In his TED talk “Dr. Love” aka Paul Zak prescribes 8 hugs a day. Find out why…
What drives our desire to behave morally? Neuroeconomist Paul Zak shows why he believes oxytocin (he calls it “the moral molecule”) is responsible for trust, empathy and other feelings that help build a stable society.
Kabir: “When the mind decides to let go of the mind, it always holds on to one thing.”
When a person thinks, strongly enough, that they want to change/be enlightened, the neurosis cooperates – but in a way that will not threaten its existence too much. We don’t like being uncomfortable. So when a teacher is chosen, it is usually the neurosis that does the choosing.
Example: If the person is not comfortable with sex, they will almost certainly choose a teacher who does not support Read more »
People buy iPhones to be universally connected and have a ton of cool functions and features at their fingertips. But as the wise monk Rev. Heng Sure once said, everything we create in silicon already exists in carbon. I’d add that the silicon technology is a poor facsimile at best.
So how exactly do you tap into the wonderful carbon technology you carry around with you all the time? Meditation is a phenomenal tool to do just that. Here are five areas where meditation beats an iPhone.
1. Connectivity
The truth is that you can’t really connect to anyone else unless you’re in touch with yourself. The iPhone allows and encourages you to be marginally present when physically absent, and marginally absent when physically present.
Meditation gets you back in touch with yourself and helps you be present. Period. Sometimes meditators are so present, they’re even present when absent! And that makes their ability to connect way beyond what the iPhone allows! Read more »
A great article from Paul Lowe sent to his mailing list today:
What is conditioning? This is a big subject. Conditioning is much easier to see in others than in ourselves. If you go to some parts of the world it will appear obvious. In some countries, women are not allowed out of the house. In other countries, they are allowed out with a chaperone, but only if their entire body is covered and their eyes veiled. What is “wrong” with showing their eyes? Good question, eh? At least it’s a good question in your part of the world. Read more »

Consider – you could have anything you want, anytime you want it. Pleasant thought? Look again.
Consider that… you my have a place in you that is afraid to have everything you what – in case, then, there is nothing to look forward to - ‘nothing to live for.’ Don’t just dismiss it, check it out: nothing to look forward to – one way or the other. Read more »

I have often been asked this question. Some Tibetans have a method. You sit in a small cell, with eyes half closed, for eighteen hours a day, until you die. Then after you are reborn, the Lama comes and finds you, and you do the same thing again, for life after life, until you wake up. Not a very efficient method is it – and you miss all the fun that planet earth has to offer. Read more »
