Our Creative Universe – Eckart Tolle

Question: What kind of guidance would you offer to people to remember, or be aware that we are a creative force in a creative Universe?

Eckart Tolle: The awakening process has two aspects, or two dimensions, to it. One is thefinding the Source within, as yourself. Then, [there is] bringing that into your life more and more – so that your daily life becomes interspersed with that Stillness. As your life becomes interspersed with that Stillness, the ego then begins to fade. You embody a different energy field – as if something from another dimension were coming through you into this world.  Read more »

Loving me

by Jamie Catto

I’m learning that loving myself means not doing anything to evolve, but just doing things because they look like fun – and there may be evolution involved along the way, yes! But choosing to take actions (or workshops) or ‘work’ on a certain personal issue feels unloving to myself where I am right NOW. As if doing so is making a statement that ‘Jamie is not OK like this, we need to make changes’. How violent that feels to me now. Read more »

In this moment

Great reminder on Paul’s list today.

  • Look for the maximum potential of each moment.
  • Be honest.
  • Take responsibility for yourself.
  • Follow the tingle!
  • Respond, don’t react.
  • Be conscious of everything you do.
  • Life is always perfect right now.
  • Be fully aware in each moment; be where you are.
  • We are here to wake up to who we are.
  • When you are walking, walk; when you are sitting, sit; above all, don’t wobble! Read more »

Zen Brain

I am so captivated by the crossover between the neuroscientists and the meditators. The Upaya Zen Center linked below has graciously made their conferences available online. My fascination and curiosity with the brain, mind and consciousness has never been greater. The map of how we think, how we are programed and how we transform has never been clearer and yet all the science still wonderously leads to the Mystery that is beyond maps and any explanation. I have never felt more at home in this Insecurity.

This link is from the second Zen Brain conference (part 2 of 19) from the site so if you’re really interested search for the previous year, as well.

Zen Brain part 2 of 19

This second link was also recorded at Upaya with Dr. Dan Siegel, a brilliant psychiatrist who makes this dense material very easily understandable.

Are you Sleepwalking?

Just recently have I come across Anthony de Mello – and I can’t stop listening, reading and watching his videos. His words touch me deeply. Another layer of feelings, emotions, identification, beliefs, ideas, concepts that I had no clue were (still) in my system start to surface in the presence of his sharing. It is within this seeing that I experience a liberation from the confines of conditioning, and feel a delightful expansion into Being.

Below you can read one of his many articles and watch some audio/videos. You can find more on www.demello.org, www.awareness.tk.

“The scriptures are always hinting of that, but you’ll never understand a word of what the scriptures are saying until you wake up. Sleeping people read the scriptures and crucify the Messiah on the basis of them. You’ve got to wake up to make sense out of the scriptures. When you do wake up, they make sense. So does reality. But you’ll never be able to put it into words. You’d rather do something? Read more »

Fear

by Jamie Catto

In the past months and years I’ve made millions of decisions based on fear, based on preventing something I don’t want from happening. The prospect of encountering these things I fear fills me with so much resistance and dread that I can spend hours turning them over and over in my mind, rehearsing scenarios and imagined conversations, trying to impose some control on the approaching chaos.

I’m now noticing that although these things that I fear are convincingly scary on approach, they are usually much emptier upon arrival. i’m driving towards mirages that look so scary as they’re getting nearer, growing bigger and bigger, but then, when i actually reach hem, i pass straight through. The experience of the thing I’ve been so scared of is totally different from my imagined version. I can handle much more than my mind thinks I can. So when it finally arrives it’s often like, oh…is that it? Read more »

Sharing Group and anger

In the past weeks anger has come up quite strongly as a topic in our weekly Sharing Group. With some people it feels very real, present in the moment and relevant to explore deeper. Some others seem to have an invested interest in the power of this emotion, however, they are not genuinely angry in the moment. It seems like there is an idea that takes over the actual experience. The idea looks for anger, digs it up, looks to express it, exaggerates it, all in the name of therapy or tapping into a source of power. But it’s false power. Read more »

Life is to be lived!

Excerpt from an email from Paul Lowe to his list today.

A Sufi saying: “Life is a bridge – don’t try and build a house on it.”

So look at this possibility: Life is to be lived. Lived!!!

Not to be observed, studied, understood, but Lived. If you have done anything before, it is old. This dimension is so vast there is no need to keep doing the same thing, in the same place, in the same way, with the same people. Really: “Take no thought of the morrow” – live.
