Who is Lucid Living?

Lucid Living is a community organisation for awakening, enlightenment and life based in London, UK. It was founded in 2006 by Veronika Kloucek, linking together various activities and events which she and her partner Ryan Spielman have been running since 2002. With the invaluable support of a large community of friends Lucid Living evolved to offer activities and events beyond the borders of the UK.

Lucid Living brings people together to engage, inspire and support each other on our journey of self-discovery. Embracing the present moment in everyday life, we weave together timeless wisdom traditions and contemporary spiritual teachings to realise our highest potentials. We provide courses, ongoing groups, retreats and individual sessions online and in person that will support you in living more fully and freely.

Veronika is a lover of life and an experimenter with freedom, truth and happiness. Over the past two decades she has studied wisdom traditions and philosophies as well as psychology and group process whilst changing her career from the business world to teaching yoga and building a thriving community in London and around the world. She has been greatly influenced by her years spent with Paul Lowe, the catalyst for her own awakening and one of the many people who have inspired Lucid Living. Veronika founded Lucid Living as a natural expression of her deep desire to live unconditionally and free, connecting and inspiring others who feel the same impulse in their own lives. As well as facilitating courses and taking care of the organisational side she teaches mediation and yoga, and is mum of a beautiful teenage son.

“Lucid Living is my life. It is my foundation that inspires and infuses everything I do. Bringing us together, to connect in a real and simple way and to support each other is not only my great joy and pleasure but my dedication. In my journey I have been blessed with support from exceptional men and women who continue to encourage me to keep looking and embrace unknown possibilities. I am tremendously grateful to be part of this exceptional community.

Ryan is a co-founder, facilitator, counsellor, teacher and teacher trainer. He has been teaching Ashtanga Yoga and meditation since 1995 and running Sharing Groups in London since 2002. During that time he has been the driving force for the Sharing phenomenon in London, supporting the birth of Lucid Living.
Ryan runs Yoga Teacher Trainings twice a year, teaches a full schedule of Ashtanga Yoga classes in London and facilitates many of the Lucid Living events such as a monthly guided Meditation class. He is a scholar of spiritual wisdom well versed in the perennial philosophy, from the ancient classics of Hindu scripture to the contemporary teachings of Non-duality and Integral theory. His greatest credentials are that he is happy, honest and free.

“I am delighted to be a part of this work. My life has been totally transformed by Sharing. I am grateful beyond measure to have had the good fortune to come across the people and paths that have expanded my reality. I am devoted to the awakening process in myself and inspiring as many others as possible to discover what awakening means in their lives. As well as contributing to many Lucid Living events I teach regular Ashtanga Yoga classes and Teacher Trainings in London.”

Rafael Ebner
Lucid Living, Contributor and Facilitator
Email me: rafael[at]lucid-living.org

Rafael has been participating in many activities of Lucid Living, and has recently come on board, helping to organise and facilitate upcoming events and projects.
Rafael has a wide variety of life-experiences and explored many realms and ways of life, following his intuition towards the essential things – finding happiness, and giving back. He is currently working as a teacher of Yin Yoga in Vienna and engaged in sustainable charity projects for Nepal.

“If I had to define the main driving force in my life, I would say – curiosity. If I had to define a purpose, a goal, i would say – freedom. If i had to define a guiding principle, I would say – truth. The combination of these elements led me on many different adventures, and a very exciting one is Lucid Living. There is hardly any experience comparable to sitting in a circle with others, sharing whatever the present moment brings. The adventure being that ‘whatever the present moment brings’ cannot be predicted or prepared. I am loving the space that is created when people go (or jump) into the “present” together – it is a strong feeling of connection and support and a friendly invitation to recognise that we are all perfect just the way we are.”

Spencer Barron
Lucid Living, Contributor and Facilitator
Email me: spencer[at]lucid-living.org

Spencer hosts most of Lucid Living’s weekly London Sharing groups and has been an integral part of our events and activities since the beginnings.

For over a decade Spencer has been dedicated to discovering life’s deeper truths not being shy to risk security and predictability. Currently he is a social worker devoting his life to be of service for those less fortunate.

“Looking at the photographs of my friends and their candid biographies, having been asked to write some words about myself to add to this section of the website, I became aware of reluctance and self doubt. There was also the feelings of love and gratitude for their presence in my life. Over the years we have experienced many adventures and discoveries together. But to use words and a photograph recorded on a website, defining and subjecting whoever I am to a point in time, seems an odd thing to do. What I can say is I have a knowledge that anything I have to say about myself with certainty or conviction soon changes, falls away, accumulates as past. This continual destruction and renewal of who I consider myself to be, ends in the realisation that I know very little about who I am at all. Often this discernable pull appears to be the unfolding of the mystery of life, death, truth and love, eternally inviting the question to this mystery, which seems to be ‘who am I?’, and which, to the best of my ability, I have dedicated my life.”

For our retreat in France 2012 we have filmed a video invitation. This is the making of this video. Enjoy the truth of who we really are :) In case you are curious about the video we produced watch the Retreat Invitation »
